Day 83 - Yay it's Christmas Season!

  • Coogee Beach - Gwelup
  • 28kms
  • 24°c
We were greeted by a surprise this morning when Ella & Oscar awoke to find that Pepper & Edwin had returned! I can only imagine the mischief that awaits the KarmaBus!

Packed up camp relatively early and made our way to our new campspot, where the hosts were very helpful and took Steve for a tour of the park to pick a spot.

As we were pulling out of last nights camp spot, which was a very tight  manoeuvre, our next door neighbour commented how we were pulling such a big van and it must be a a pain at times. We discussed this as we drove out and I commented how we've really had no trouble getting in or out of any sites, well I totally jinxed us! We get to our site and after a 20 point turn to get onto the site, we unhook the van only to see that we are parked on what could only be likened to quick sand and have to rehook as the levelling ramps sink into the sand grrr! So we do another 20 or so back & forths and finally set up camp! Ella & Oscar must have gotten over waiting, we get inside to find them setting up the Christmas Tree! Great job guys!

After sprinkling some festive spirit over the KarmaBus we headed to the pool and thankfully, spa! The pool was huge which was pretty handy because at least 50 other guests had the same idea.

The caravan park has two lakes within it and they are full of ducks, a couple of swans & even a long necked turtle! They were very tame and let us get pretty close.

The locals came to visit and they were very friendly, we handfed them and they hung around for quite a while.

Ella came running in from the jumping pillow and shouted "I need a carrot"! opens fridge, then bolts back out the door? Curiously I follow to find Ella sitting with a rabbit and a duck. Shh Mum i'm gonna catch one! Ella was feeding the rabbit and every time the duck moved in to grab a piece, the rabbit would chase it in a circle. We tried for about half an hour to no avail, but we did find another rabbit and some fellow campers told us that they live under the camp kitchen.
