Day 28 - Vlaminghead Lighthouse

  • Exmouth
  • 33°c
Headed off around the top of Exmouth to see what we could find, thought we'd also check out some of the free camping sites - didn't get that far down the coast.  However we did see some amazing sights!

The Thirteen Towers, although they are numbered 0 -12

The tower was used during World War II and the sandbags are still in place, although the material has disintegrated the sand has formed hard as rock, you can see the weave embedded in the sand!

Next stop was Jurabi Turtle Centre, the turtles come up on this beach around this time of year to make their nests and lay their eggs.  No turtles were sighted or nests, think it was too early and bright for them.

Back at the ol' campsite and we had a visitor!

Our site was right next to the bbqs and this emu was eyeing off somebodys dinner and was heading straight for a snag! This poor guy turns around just in time to see the emu heading straight for his dinner and promptly sent it on its way.

Ella & Oscar followed him as he wandered the park and headed off out the back into the scrub.
Tonights movie: We bought a Zoo - such an awesome movie - must see!
