Day 48 - The Pinnacles

After a quiet morning around the campsite our travel buddies headed off and Steve took Ella to the jetty for a spot of fishing.  Oscar decided he would keep me company back at camp, I finally got the sewing machine out & sewed the ties onto the curtains! It may not seem like a big thing but it feels like a luxury not having to hunt for the curtain ties every morning!

Steve & Ella caught up with our buddies down the jetty and helped them catch a fish or two, he & Ella still came home with a couple for dinner. A visit to the Lobster Shack is apparently a must, Steve was very disappointed when he ordered the Lobster Pack only to be told the lobsters are frozen and uncooked!

We headed off to The  Pinnacles about 4pm as we wanted to catch the sunset.  We opted for the 4km round trip car drive rather than the 1.4km walk and boy were we glad we did because once again we were surrounded by flies. A couple of times we did the jump out grab a photo and back in the car thing and then decided we'd do the loop again. We pulled into the carpark to see our buddies Bus so stopped to offer them a lift as the drive was quite narrow and a few sharp turns thrown in for fun! So the 8 of us piled into our car and headed off for a sunset viewing, there were still flies and we are all now experts in the Miagi wax on wax off!

The Pinnacles are limestone formations jutting out and are quite a mystery.  As the sun started to set the colors of the landscape were amazing, all shades of reds, oranges, yellows & pinks.  We were also pretty lucky to see such a beautiful sunset too.  We wove the Bus off as they headed down the coast and shall no doubt catch them in a day or two!
