Day 9 - Halfway across Australia

  • Port Augusta - Ceduna
  • 471kms
  • 20°c

Childish? perhaps.  Funny? absolutely!

We pulled into town expecting to refuel as we have learnt to get it where you can. But it wasn't to be, the one store town told us there was no fuel anymore.  Luckily we weren't running low cause the next station was in Kimba some 88kms away.

What a nice surprise when we reached Kimba to discover we were "Half Way Across Australia" and in the home of The Big Galah, woo hoo!

I got it! Bec running back down the road to retrieve what was left of the side mirror after a road train went past.

We arrived in the town of Ceduna early afternoon and decided on the Shelley Beach Caravan Park a little ways out of town.  A windy yet nice walk down the beach was a great way to stretch the legs.

Ella & Oscar decided they would make dinner and we were told to "just sit down and relax, we'll do it"... hmm, okay then!  Ella then taught Oscar how to finger knit (arts & crafts - tick) and he now has grand plans to knit his dragon a jumper? Some assistance from Mama may be required when we get to Busselton?! and thanks to Nikni for teaching Ella, she also has grand plans for a dress!

Shelley Beach Caravan Park, Ceduna - lovely park, flat sites, power, water, great amenities, close to beach, $29.50 a night, not sure if we were charged for the kiddos, so Steve told them to duck each time we drove past the office!!
