Day 342 – Heading to Broome!

  • Fitzroy Crossing – Broome
  • 394kms
  • 32°c
After a leisurely start to the morning we left Fitzroy Crossing about 9.30 as we knew it wasn’t a long trip today.

We have gotten somewhat used to seeing smoke and smoldering fires along the roadside and have come to accept that this is how they manage nature up the top end.

However today we think it may have gotten a little out of control, the smoke was absolutely billowing up to the sky and the smell was indescribable. It was pouring across the road and we were most pleased when it was behind us and the distance was increasing.

We made it to Broome in the afternoon and spent the day relaxing and going for a quick dip in the pool.

Cable Beach Carvavan Park, $58 a night, power, water, massive pool, great spot

    1. It was awful and I couldn't help but think how much worse a bushfire would be
