Day 235 - It's Reno time!

  • Hervey Bay
  • 27°c
This morning Steve woke early and was a little shocked as he swung his feet out of bed and landed in a pool of water on the carpet?! I sleepily advised him to shut the vents thinking he was exaggerating and that a bit of rain had come in last night! Oh no, not so the whole carpet area ( whose bright idea was carpet in a caravan?) was soaked, that meant everything was quickly lifted up our under bed storage and placed outside. A couple of our neighbours asked what time the garage sale was?!

After we had cleared everything out of the bedroom, Steve discovered our hot water service had burst which was located in the bottom of his cupboard. We called the insurance company and left a message, our friend across from us had the same thing happen and didn't have any joy with the insurance and the outcome for us was the same. Sue next door kindly came over bearing gingerbread men for Ella & Occy thinking they might like a treat, seeing as Mum & Dad were preoccupied!

Steve and I pulled out the cupboards and bed to get to the carpet which we also removed and hung on the line to dry! Leo next door lent us his fan so we had that and the heater blasting the floor in the hopes of drying out the timber. Steve located a new hot water service and will pick it up tomorrow. So with nothing left to do but wait for the carpet to dry we headed down to Wet Side to cool off!

We really are very lucky to be staying in such a beautiful spot. We relayed the carpet and put the van back together before joining our lovely neighbours for afternoon drinks, which Rod alerts everyone to by putting "drinks" table out front!
