Day 244 – Market Surprise

  • Airlie Beach
  • 25°c

What a great way to start a day, stumbling upon a market! The beach front market had lots of interesting stalls, but I think the fave was the guy sandsculpting on the beach, a most awesome dragon complete with flaming nostrils and marble eyes.

We took a drive to Cannonvale just out of Airlie Beach as we were in need of a new water filter and on the way back our Eagle Eyes spotted a giant Vintage store. We just made it in before closing time and Ella found the coolest dress, she’s decided it’s going to be her uniform!

A wander through the main street of Airlie after lunch, well what’s left of it, more roadworks, but there was Cold Rock to be had!

We found the lagoon in town and dipped our toes in, not quite warm enough for a swim it was decided.

A swim in the pool with their new friend Megan was a great way to spend some time, that was until the midgees appeared, so it was time to retreat. After drying off Ella, Occy & Megan spent some time trying to crack open the coconuts before they called in the big gun; Daddy. The juice wasn’t good but the flesh was tasty, I even hand fed some to the bush turkeys.
