On the road again, heading North to Cairns,
today we passed roadworks!, Sugarcane and banana trees.

investigation led us to a caravan park about 10kms from the centre of town as
we were not going to pay $64 a night for a site! We set up camp and a friendly
lady advised that the turtles and fish were at the creek so we made our way
down to see hundreds of fish and at least a dozen turtles in the freshwater
lagoon. The fish were too fast for the turtles taking the bread before they had
a chance, Ella & Occy raced back to the van to get some bread and managed
to feed the turtles and quite a few fish as well.
We headed into the Pier Precinct for some Wood Fired pizza
only to discover it was no longer there, but the park opposite was an
interesting sight; a stage setup looking a lot like a concert until closer
inspection revealed a mass aerobics class going on! We found a little Pizzeria
further down the road and enjoyed some yummy food before heading home in time
for Steve to watch his mighty Pies!
