Day 275 – New Friends

  • Wonga Beach
  • 25°c
It was homeschool time this morning and we managed to get it done in a pretty good time frame amongst some housekeeping tasks.
We were having a cruisy afternoon  when I saw a van pull in with 3 bikes on the roof – (always a good sign there may be children!) and as they pulled into the spot next to us I spied a boy and a girl. Ella & Oscar were happy at the prospect of having some kids to play with and it didn’t take long for them to make friends with not only the family next to us but another family that had arrived yesterday whilst we were on our way back from Cooktown. The kiddos had a great time fossicking and building a fort, the parents wandered over after setting up camp and we got chatting; Felicity, Paul Alanna & Marcus are from Newcastle and Rachel, Troy, Max, Bonnie & Olivia are from Carrum!

It was dinner time so we decided to eat then we’d catch up later for a drink. It was so great to make some lovely new friends and we chatted well into the night, swapping stories of places we’d been and places we wanted to go. Rachel and I tried to find a mutual friend, in the end we managed to get it to 4 degrees of separation – not bad! The kiddos played Uno and chatted till we decided as it was past 11 that it was bed time for all, but we organized to head up the Bloomfield Track tomorrow to The lions Den for lunch. So we set the alarm and drifted off to the sounds of waves and nuts!
